Tastenflow - learn touch typing, free and accessible
Tastenflow is a free touch-typing trainer that runs in the browser, with no install and no account needed. It is built for every pupil: a whole class can do the same exercise together, however well each pupil can see. Every exercise is announced, every keystroke can be heard, and the display can be magnified far beyond the usual size. With a screen reader such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver and a refreshable braille display, Tastenflow can be used without looking at the screen at all.
The course starts with two keys on the home row and grows to the full alphabet, numbers and punctuation. The next exercise follows each pupil's own progress, not a fixed lesson order. There are stories to type, games, a one-handed mode and contrast themes. Keyboard layouts for the US, the UK, Germany and Switzerland are included.
Teachers can create a class, follow each pupil's progress, set weekly goals and run a Typing Challenge or a real-time Class Match. Tastenflow has no adverts, no third-party tracking and no Google services, and is hosted in Germany in the EU. It is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Contact: sensorik@weingartner.org
